I sanded the cockpit fill--mostly for the last time, as all of the smaller areas and fastener holes were smooth and fair at this point.  The icebox hatch, fuel fill, and rudder tube area still required additional work.

Before moving on to the filling again, I sanded the remainder of the decks (coachroof, cabin trunk, sidedecks, foredeck) for the final time, this time with 80-120 grit paper on a vibrating finishing sander.  This was the final step before the decks were ready for high-build primer.

To wrap up the day's work, and before moving over to another project in the shop, I applied fine fairing compound to the aft cockpit bulkhead, rudder tube fairings, icebox hatch patch, and the fuel fill patch.  I thought this would probably be the final coat required on these areas, though I thought the rudder tube might require some fine-tuning after the next sanding.
