Waanderlust Project | Monday, September 20, 2010

After final preparations, I applied three coats of Alexseal topcoat to the hull over the course of a few hours.  As with the deck, I incorporated flattening agent in a pre-determined proportion into the paint to reduce its gloss to a flatter, semi-gloss finish.

The color was a shop-made custom mix of light gray and aristo blue in a 6:1 ratio, which corresponded to one of the samples (#3) that I'd made and sent to the owner for his perusal.  The color was similar to that which was on the hull when the boat arrived at the shop, but a bit "bluer" and slightly darker.
