Waanderlust Project | Monday, August 2, 2010

I spent the day on final pre-primer preparations.  Since the staging was still down, I took the opportunity to first apply a strip of masking paper along the waterline to prevent overspray beneath the tape, and completed a preliminary solvent wash on the hull.

After rebuilding the staging to deck height, I solvent-washed the decks to prepare them for taping and other prep.  I covered all the deck openings from below with tape or paper, then moved back on deck and finished taping up the port openings, various hatches, coamings, and whatever else required masking for tomorrow's primer.

I finished up by wiping down hull and deck areas with Alexseal wipe-down solvent, then washed the floor down and prepared the paint and spray equipment for the 'morrow.
