Summer Song | Tuesday, November 8, 2011

I spent the first part of the day sanding the decks all over, using 320 grit paper.

Afterwards, I cleaned up the boat and shop to remove sanding dust and prepare the decks for masking.  Once the cleaning was complete, I began to lay out and mask off the eventual nonskid areas, so that I could spray the gloss topcoats on the remaining (exposed) areas.   I temporarily placed the cockpit locker hatches in position so I could mask them in line with the adjacent seating areas, though I wouldn't leave them in place for the painting.

I'd finish up the sidedecks and foredeck, and make other final painting preparations, in the morning.
