Snow Lily | Monday, April 29, 2013

After a few days away from the shop, it was time to shift things around and get Snow Lily ready to face the harsh outdoors, as I needed to move her out of the shop to make way for another project.

To begin, however, I continued work on the quarterberth, where I sanded the modified and primed bulkhead I started a few days earlier; afterwards, I applied the first coat of semi-gloss white enamel.

After removing tools and other equipment, and making final preparations for the weather, including adjusting all the ports so they could be tightly dogged, I moved the boat outdoors, where she'd remain for the remainder of the project.  With the bulk of the work complete, only a few details remained, mainly some final installations for the battery bank and related components that were on their way here as of this writing.

The owner changed where he planned to keep the boat during the season, so at his request I ordered a new hailport to reflect the change, and later in the day I removed the original port and installed the new one.  Not only did the new marina look like a nice spot, the new hailport looked better on the transom too.
