Snow Lily | Tuesday, November 13, 2012

During the remainder of the week, I planned to get going on the interior varnish work.  To begin the process, I masked off any areas still requiring it; I'd masked some areas earlier, but now completed the job, masking off bulkhead edges, cabin sole, and other areas.  Afterwards, I lightly sanded all surfaces with 320 grit paper, then vacuumed and solvent wash.

Afterwards, I applied a coat of gloss varnish to all areas, one of several additional base coats I'd apply before switching to satin varnish for the final finish.

This consumed most of the day, but I spent the remaining time making various preparations towards getting ready for primer next week, ridding the shop of excess items and removing my tools from the boat so they'd not be encapsulated inside the boat once I started masking the decks for primer.
