Sailmaster 131 | Thursday, October 3, 2013

Begining in the cockpit I sanded the new primer with 220 grit paper by machine and hand as needed, then moved on to the main decks, sanding the primer smooth to prepare for the next surfacing and finishing steps.  Afterwards, I sanded the hull, also with 220 grit, and vacuumed and solvent-washed the surfaces.

As one of the last steps in overall surface preparation, the high-build primer highlighted various areas requiring additional filling, mainly small gelcoat pinholes at edges, radii, and corners.  So after cleaning up at the end of the day, I applied fine filler to these areas on both hull and deck.
