Log for the Week Ending May 2, 2004

ds42904-1.jpg (39065 bytes)It is with great regret that I inform you, dear reader, that there was no work accomplished on the Daysailor this week.  I had hoped to get some interior work accomplished, but in the free time I had available, I focused instead on readying my other two boats for the water.  Glissando gets launched on May 13, and I wanted to get her all set and ready.  And I wanted to get the Lyman 23 ready for a trial run in the water, so I did some work on her as well.

There may be a few more weeks of "unrest" around here, so I make no promises for better progress a week from now, though I truly hope to get back into it in the coming days.  In any event, stay tuned, for even if the progress is slower and somewhat more sporadic, I do promise that good and noticeable progress will happen over the next couple months.  This is always the toughest time of year for me to get much project work done, but this too shall pass.

Log for the Week Ending May 9, 2004

I'm afraid there is no progress to report for this week.  Look for some updates to the Glissando site soon, however.

Better luck next week?  Time will tell.

Log for the Week Ending May 16, 2004

I'm afraid there is no progress to report for this week.  Soon, my friends, soon.  I have a lot of work to accomplish by fall, so I'd better get back to it soon.

I did launch Glissando on May 13, beginning her fourth season since the rebuild.

Go to Glissando's site to see.

Log for the Week Ending May 23, 2004

I have no progress to report for this week.  Yes, it's bugging me too.

The shop has not been inactive, however.  With the exit of Glissando for launching on May 13, I finally opened up space in the shop for work on a 1981 Etchells sloop, which was here for an Awlgrip job on the hull.  With time of the essence, I chose to dedicate my time to completing this job, after which, finally, I might be able to get down to brass tacks (or bronze, as the case may be) and get serious about some Daysailor construction once more.

Click here to check out the Etchells job.

Log for the Week Ending May 30, 2004

There is no progress to report for this week.

The problem with a weekly log format like this is that even a few weeks of inactivity--normal in any boat project--appears to be a terrible transgression.  In return for regular and constant updates, you get the chance of seeing periods of no activity.

Continue to June>
