I finalized the wood order and sent that off, with delivery of the bulk of materials scheduled for next Monday.  However, in order to try and keep the process moving in the meantime, I decided to head out and pick up some of the plywood required, so that I could begin the interior layout sooner rather than later.

There remained a few unanswered questions about the final interior layout, however, so while the final decisions were being made I did what I could to continue to prepare for the interior work ahead, since I couldn't start the construction in earnest till a couple things were finalized.

To that end, I milled some stock mahogany into 1-1/2" wide strips that I'd use throughout the construction process for cleats to secure bulkheads and other interior components, and related work.  I also worked in the wood shop a bit to prepare for the upcoming delivery of materials, so that I could store them when they arrived.

Meanwhile, I started to look into some of the equipment choices that we'd need to decide in the relatively near future--through hulls, hatches, diesel engine, and more.
