Circe | Wednesday, April 28, 2010

Anticipating a new project's arrival soon, I began to make preparations to move Circe outdoors in the near future, probably later in the week.  The remaining work list was minimal, and there was nothing requiring her further presence in the shop.  She had to brave the elements sooner or later.

Still ahead:

1.  VHF radio installation (radio not yet on hand)
2.  Construct slatted teak cockpit grate (beginning soon; materials now on hand)
3.  Permanently install rudderpost cover
4.  Install propeller (propeller now in stock at the prop shop, and delivery expected here next week)
5.  Install Tides Marine Strong mainsail track system on mast (track now on hand)
6.  Add fluids and test-run engine (after boat is outside)

To that end, I performed a final cleaning of the interior with vacuum and wood cleaner, removed the final tools and work lights, and installed the cushions.

On deck, I removed the protective rosin paper from the decks and cleaned up.  Afterwards, I worked out the materials I needed for the cockpit grate, and made plans to acquire them in the morning.
