Blue Teal | Thursday, June 13, 2013

Wrapping up the final pre-delivery details on a long-term shop project consumed a goodly portion of the day, leaving me with enough time for a second coat of white paint in the forward cabin, which took care of most of the thin spots left by the first coat.

Afterwards, I trimmed the engine foundation blanks to the proper rough size, removing the raw edges and squaring the blanks to about 12-1/2" x 22" (two pieces), the final step before shaping the pieces to fit the hull, which I'd do next time.  While I was at it, I prepared several pieces of prefab fiberglass and G-10 for future use in the engine foundations and as a windlass mounting plate, sanding away the smooth, shiny factory surfaces of the pieces.
