Continuing on the handrails, I repeated the layout and pre-installation process with the starboard pair of rails.

Afterwards, I masked around the rail bases on both sides to prepare for the final installation.  Then, I removed the rails to await the new fasteners later in the day.

With an appointment away from the shop in the afternoon, I had enough time before departing to work on the companionway hatch.  First, I reinstalled the varnished wooden trim to the sliding hatch, using sealant and new fasteners.

After some basic layout on deck, I reinstalled the hatch and secured it with the new teak blocks at the aft end, which held and secured the round bronze rails on which the hatch slid.  I installed the blocks with sealant and machine screws into tapped holes in the solid fiberglass portion of the cabin top.
